Requirements:
-A good photo to look off of sent to my email. The closer the faces to each other, the better.
-Half the cost upfront after we've come to a mutual understanding of what is to be done.
-The rest of the price paid in full after picture satisfaction I send you ahead of time paid before delivery.
Please allow ample time for me to complete your request. Generally, I would say to expect about a month for me to complete the work. If you have an urgent need, please let me know ahead of time and I will see what I can do. As far as other artwork, I can and have worked in a wide variety of mediums and if I haven't done it, I have no problem learning how. Generally, other less detailed work will not cost as much as portraits. As the artist, I reserve the right to refuse any work requested that goes against my personal beliefs and refuse to do any nudity. If you have any inquiries about any other work, please send me an email with the title "art request" in the subject line where we could discuss pricing.
While I have prices on a lot of my artwork, there are some that are listed that while not priced might still be available but are just not framed. However, as far as my Women in Freedom collection, those are my "babies" that are so valuable to me and obviously the collection is yet to be finished. It would take a lot for me to sell them. If you are someone who has a similar vision communicated or where prints could possibly be made to spread my vision, please send me a message about it. With your permission, I may also add the artwork on my site. I look forward to doing business with you! Thank you for your time and interest!
As a side note:
I know a lot of people don't understand the experience needed to be quick and precise or the amount of time required without the experience that goes into fine art or I have just gifted it, volunteered time for churches and friends, or under-charged for my services. As much as I'd like to offer my work to any price point, I'm at a point in life where a good family portrait can take me about a month to find the time to work on it and my time is becoming more valuable to me with a family of 7 and working on different houses. I've seen the prices of others' work, and heard from a friend they were quoted $7,000 for a family pencil drawing of 5, and according to Saatchi I've sold with or other galleries, I am very middle range when it comes to my pricing.
In college, I learned to use a grid to do portraits, and it took me about 30 hours to do one. I would have never considered using a projector at all at that point. However, with a fast approaching timeline for a wedding gift on my last family portrait and learning a lot of artists use projectors, I was able to borrow one to do a light general outline and between using that and more experience since my first portraits, was able to cut my time in almost half. I'm hoping by now I've established that I can do the work without one, but just find it smart these days with my limited time and am hoping to invest in a good one at some point for the general outline at least. I want to be transparent about that if I am able to get one or borrow one for future work. It still takes a considerable amount of time and work past the general outline. As my youngest two get older and go to school as well, I am hoping I can invest more time into my art as I've put my artwork somewhat on hold for the last decade with 5 babies and 6 pregnancies, moving so often, flipping houses, homeschooling until this past year, and everything that comes with all of that.
