It's not often that I read a book and cry several times. So many thoughts resonated with my soul, the poetry combined with Rachel's inner thought life, was able to reach my heart in ways most books don't. I read a lot of books, this one was different. It provoked me to long for the sweet relationship I had with God as a child, before religion and expectations of Him hindered my view. My heart aches for the genuine childlike faith I once had and want to cultivate. This book reminded me of that and that I can start again anytime. To keep what matters up front in my mind. I believe it will bring healing to many women who need it, who need to know that they are not alone in their struggles. This book tackles tough subjects like forgiveness, resentment, striving, perfectionism, religious expectations, inequality, and so much more. I'm so glad that I read it and I'm going to recommend it to all my friends.

Reading Re-Creating Me is like talking to a good friend. I feel like Rachel knows and understands me, and I feel like I know her through her book. Definitely buy or listen to this book! Rachel's book spoke to my heart like few books do. Her poems touched me also and I'm not typically a "poem" person. I find myself referring back to her poems in the book- as I listened to the book on audible first. This is a book I will listen to again and again!
